Librivox Love

Photobucket

I've recently become quite attached to Librivox.

My sister began a Jane Austen book club a few months ago; with great gusto I signed up, of course. And, of course, I've already read (several times over) each of her novels.

With the time and date quickly approaching for our book club meeting, I had to bow to pressure and listen to the audio book (which is totally not cheating, since I've read the books already anyway!)

After searching my local library's website, as well as the interwebs, by far the best source for these files is Librivox.

Now that I've listened to a few of these novels, I've realized my favourite reader is certainly the talented Elizabeth Klett, who is also quite a crafter! (check out her site. It's good stuff).
She's also done several pieces of Shakespeare, which are next on my list!

Anyone else a Librivox fan?

Unfortunately, by reading to me every night before bed, my parents managed to instill a Pavlovian response in me: when people read to me, I get sleepy. Doesn't matter how awake I was beforehand. It's too bad, though, because I do like the idea.

Oh, I love Librivox too! I really like Mark Nelson, and the P.G. Wodehouse readings.

I'm a huge Librivox fan. I like the collections of short ghost stories.

I LOVE Librivox! I've been downloading and listening to books from them for years. For some reason - reading Jane Austen puts me to sleep! However, listening to Jane Austen while knitting is the perfect solution!

Yes. YES!

Thanks for posting your favorite. My favorites so far are Tess of the D'Urbervilles recorded by Adrian Praetzellis and the Anne of Green Gables series read by Karen Savage. They are so amazing :)

I didn't even know Librivox existed, apparently I live under a rock. It looks amazing. With my semester almost over and insanely long crafty to do list, this looks awesome! I can't wait to see everything they have and try to create some sort of activities with the girls to go with it! Thank you!!!
